Sources and references: how federal spending is controlled, and the Social Security and Medicare trust funds¶
Every document behind the report, with where it came from and which claims rest on it. All are government documents (public records) and are saved in full under sources/official/<publisher>/; their text extractions are in data/text/. Every figure and factual statement in the report is a claim in data/claims_*.jsonl that names its document, its PDF page and the exact words of the document; scripts/check_claims.py verifies each of them. "Pages" are PDF page numbers (1 = first page of the file), not printed page numbers. Retrieval dates are UTC.
No news articles, think-tank pages or other copyrighted pages were saved or are relied on. The answers in notes/qa_session_2026-10-05.md cite some secondary sources by name; the report does not.
